Admissions

We understand that every person’s path to recovery is different. Whether you come to us through a partner referral, a court mandate, or by your own choice, our first step is always an in-person intake with our compassionate team.

During this interview, we take the time to learn about your personal history, your goals, and your reasons for seeking treatment. While the process includes important paperwork and assessments, we move quickly to determine the best placement for your success. From there, we create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and strengths.

Central Admissions at Samaritan Daytop Village

Central Admissions serves as the gateway to Samaritan Daytop Village’s comprehensive behavioral health services across New York City, Long Island, and the lower Hudson Valley. Our programs include residential and outpatient substance use treatment, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), mental health care, and peer recovery services.

Available 24/7, our experienced Admissions Specialists manage intakes for individuals in need of immediate or complex care. Each evaluation takes a holistic approach—considering medical, mental health, legal, military, and family history—to determine the most appropriate program placement, whether it’s residential treatment, outpatient services, MAT, or our specialized Veterans Program.

Referrals can be made by phone, online, email, or in person.

Program Placement

Our experienced Admissions Specialists begin by learning about your personal journey—what led you to seek treatment and what you hope to achieve. With this understanding, we work quickly to identify the most appropriate program to support your recovery and long-term success.

Once a placement is determined, we reserve your spot and begin developing a personalized treatment plan in collaboration with you and our clinical team. We also coordinate closely with referring providers, family members, and others involved in your care to ensure a smooth and supportive transition into treatment.

Referral Process

We accept referrals from individuals, family members, and third-party partners—including healthcare providers, criminal justice agencies, military organizations, and community groups.

Once a referral is received, our team will reach out to conduct a brief phone assessment, followed by an in-person intake appointment. Appointments are held during business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To help streamline the process, we recommend bringing any relevant medical, legal, military, or supporting documents to your appointment.
