Hernandez Presents Award to NYC's First Lady

Samaritan Village President and CEO Tino Hernandez joined Phillip Sapperia, CEO of The Coalition of Behavioral Health Agencies, to present The Coalition’s 2015 Public Service Award to Chirlane McCray, New York City’s First Lady. McCray was cited at the presentation for her outstanding service to raise the importance of mental health and substance abuse services and to the people who require their services. She was also applauded for her tireless efforts to expand the reach of these services to the poor and underserved residents of the City, and for bringing her personal experience and compassion to combat the public stigma against these disabilities. The presentation took place at the Pfizer World Headquarters in Manhattan on June 18. The event was attended by service providers, care practitioners, clients, government representatives, consultants and business partners from a range of sectors, including those from the managed care industry.
