BronxNet Today: Anthem Blue Cross Nutrition Fair

Recovering from substance use disorder is hard, and it takes more than treatment alone. It requires addressing the whole person.

At the Bronx River Houses Nutrition Fair, Samaritan Daytop Village staff spoke with BronxNet TV about supporting people in recovery. We know the critical role nutrition plays in recovery from substance use and mental health challenges.

Access to healthy food, combined with education and support, can improve physical health, strengthen mental well-being, and help people stay engaged in their recovery journeys. This is the foundation of our “Food as Medicine” approach — integrating nutrition into care because we know better health leads to better outcomes.

We are grateful to our partners, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation, for supporting this work and helping us bring these resources directly to communities across New York City.
