(NEW YORK, NEW YORK) – October 6, 2026 — On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, Samaritan Daytop Village and Health brought together over 350 supporters at Tribeca 360° for Samaritan Daytop Foundation’s annual gala, celebrating the community of supporters who have sustained its life-saving services for more than 65 years.
The evening raised over a record-breaking $1.1 million to support the programs that directly serve more than 36,000 New Yorkers every year, including substance use treatment, mental health care, veterans services, housing, and educational and vocational support.
With the theme “Stronger With You,” the gala recognized three honorees: MEGA Contracting Group, the general contractor for the Highbridge development in the Bronx that will provide affordable, supportive, and transitional housing; Errol Louis, political anchor at Spectrum News NY1; and Ronald L. Savarese, PhD, a Samaritan Daytop Village Board member and former Board chair.
The evening was hosted by Erin Billups, national health reporter for Spectrum News NY1, and longtime SDV supporter. Al Roker, host and Weatherman of NBC’s TODAY show, served as Honorary Chair.
“Tonight’s gala was a powerful demonstration of what happens when we come together. Thanks to the generosity of our gala champions, sponsors, and honorees, and the hard work of our staff and volunteers, we will continue to help New Yorkers build better lives and brighter futures,” said Mitchell Netburn, President & CEO of Samaritan Daytop Village and Foundation.
