Healthy Afterschool Snacks

School is officially back in session! Nutrition and behavioral change expert Dr. Elizabeth Madison is back with some healthy and tasty treats.

Nutritionist partner Dr. Elizabeth Madison, RD, introduced News 12’s “Be Well” viewers to the concept of “stealth nutrition” – mixing in whole foods for an added boost of nutrition and energy.

Hosts Kristie Reeter and Norman Baker sampled three all-natural snack ideas designed to help kids and adults stay “powered up” until the next meal.

Dr. Madison helps Samaritan Daytop Village clients learn how nutrition can improve their physical and mental health. She has helped transform the menu offerings at our residential treatment facilities and developed our popular Food As Medicine nutrition workshops and cooking demos for the PARC (Peer Alliance Recovery Centers), funded by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation.
