Bringing Health & Wellness to Women in Treatment

Treatment Programs Just for Her

It’s National Wellness Month, a time to urge all of the women in our lives to prioritize their own physical and mental health and well-being. And, we especially urge the women patients in our residential treatment programs to do the same – because the success of their long-term recovery from substance use disorder often hinges on their ability to stay healthy.

Programs and Services for Women

Did you know Samaritan Daytop Village offers gender-specific residential treatment for substance use disorder and co-occurring diagnoses?

Our residential programs offer a safe space where women can have their health needs and challenges met as they focus on treatment for addiction and mental health disorders like PTSD.

When women are admitted to our residential facilities, they meet with a multidisciplinary team of specialists who work together to provide high-quality, integrated care. Our licensed and certified staff includes medical, clinical, social work, case management, peer recovery, recreation, and vocational specialists.

Our team also has the expertise to prescribe and administer medication, as needed, based on the client’s individual treatment plan.

Varied Specialties to Support Varied Needs

Samaritan Daytop Village offers a host of other services and resources for women in treatment, including family reunification and therapy, alumni services, and job training, among others. As an example, our Young Mothers Program provides specialized services to pregnant and parenting women with children four and under. The program provides pediatric care and child development specialists for newborns, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Evidence-Based Approach to Gender-Based Care

As part of the treatment plan, we select from a range of evidence-based practices, clinically proven treatment techniques, and intervention models. They include:

As can be expected, we utilize certain techniques more so with a women-specific population than we would with men at our other gender-based programs.
