Samaritan Village Honored for Community Service

Assemblywoman Latoya Joyner presented a citation to Samaritan Village for excellence in service to the Bronx community at the agency’s fourth annual Women’s History Month celebration. Last month Joyner gave a keynote address at the event, which took place at the Highbridge Residential Treatment facility. For the event, Program Director Deirdre Rice-Reese gathered together 175 female clients and 25 staff members from all of the agency’s treatment and shelter programs, including Cape Road and the Daytop Village Meadow Run program in Rhinebeck, New York. In addition to the Assemblywoman, other speakers included Samaritan Village’s Vice President of Residential Treatment Roy Kearse and Assistant Vice President for Real Estate and Housing Karen Ford. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Looking Back, Moving Forward.”
