Mott Haven residents getting free access to health screenings, wellness activities, and much more. Dozens of Bronx sites  took part in the 3rd Annual Bronx Community Fair at the amphitheater  in St. Mary’s Park. Take a look.

The yearly event highlights healthy living on a budget, and Bronxites took part in cooking demonstrations, health screenings, and were even able to get Narcan and wound care kits.

Samaritan Daytop Village’s PARC (Peer Alliance Recovery Center) held its 3rd Annual Bronx Community Fair at the St. Mary’s Park Amphitheatre in the Bronx.

The event featured free health screenings, wellness activities, and resource booths. Free Narcan and wound care kits, as well as fentanyl and xylazine test strips, were distributed along with other giveaways.

Food As Medicine cooking demo at the 3rd Annual Bronx Community Fair

This year, the fair showcased PARC’s peer-led Food As Medicine initiative, which integrates nutrition education, culinary therapy, and chronic disease prevention into substance use recovery services. The initiative promotes nutrition literacy and how to maintain a healthy diet on a budget. Food As Medicine workshops at PARC explain nutrition’s link to improved health and wellness during Recovery Services.
